Mike Huckabee is no longer lonely in the Lone Star state. The Dallas Morning News reports that Huck has assembled a base of evangelicals to turn out his people on March 4. Additionally, Huck released a statement today stating that he recieved the endorsement of state senator Dan Patrick. Patrick on Huckabee: "As a committed Christian, I appreciate and respect his unabashed commitment to put God first in everything he does. His stance on pro-life, pro-marriage and pro-family issues are important to Texas." This is important because Texas apportions their delegates based on local congressional districts. If Patrick and Co. are able to deliver districts for Huck, this will further slow McCain's inevitable capture of 1,191 delegates.

The Republican National Committeewoman from Dallas sounds like a cretan. She is under the illusion that if a Democrat is elected then it is nuclear war against the U.S.A., but not so if a Republican is elected. What is that--soft-terrorism?
The DMN endorsed Huckabee (on the Republican side) back in December before any of the caucuses or primaries were held. On the Democratic side they backed Obama.
The so-called evangelicals organizing for Huckabee are the core of the Religious Right in Texas. It is far more a political machine than a religious one.
Shackleford can't tell the difference between the politics of the RR and what the Bible actually teaches (which is radically different). Only occasionally does Huckabee show any recognition of the difference for that matter. It is inconceivable that the Jewish Prophets or Jesus would have anything positive to say about the RR.
