Jim Wallis and Rick Warren are doing an outstanding job of carrying out the gospel. They are in very sharp contrast to the large and vociferous Religious Right. I would like to think they are in the forefront of a radical alteration of viewpoint of evangelicals in the world. It will take another decade or so to tell.
What I find quite intersting and hopeful about Wallis, Warren, Cizik, and others, is that they actually take the teachings of their Bibles seriously. That is in sharp contrast to the leading spokespersons of the Religious Right, who for decades have pressed an agenda that is in sharp contrast to the teachings of the prophets and Jesus.
